Members say that singing the powerfully balanced sounds of barbershop harmony provides a rich, rewarding experience. BCC is celebrating their 66th Anniversary as a member of Sweet Adelines International (SAI). Founded in Tulsa, Okla., in 1945, SAI is a nonprofit musical education association, starting as a small group of women who loved to sing. Since then, it has evolved into an organization that spans the globe. With more than 600 Sweet Adelines chapters located throughout the U.S. and 5 continents … SAI connects thousands of singers around the world in song. They’re dedicated to preserving the unique sound of a cappella barbershop harmony, sharing their passion for music and empowering our communities. Performances and competitions allow members to grow in their confidence on and off stage, and for decades the organization has proudly perpetuated barbershop music — one of a few forms of music native to the United States.
