Our Director

Mary Su became the musical director of the Battle Creek Chorus in December 2023. She has been a Sweet Adeline for more than 25 years and currently sings with Motor City Blend Chorus in Region 2, a 10th-place International Finalist in 2024. She also sings tenor with Custom Blend Quartet, a registered quartet in SAI. Mary became a certified director in 2013 while serving as assistant director of the Voices in Harmony Chorus. In addition, she served on the music team of Voices in Harmony as tenor section leader for five years and on the board of directors for Motor City Blend as chorus relations chair for two years. In 2026 she earned the Harmony 500 Certified Director designation. This title is awarded to chorus directors who have completed the Director Certification Program and whose choruses have scored 500 or more points in regional competition. The certification recognizes a director’s musical knowledge, artistry, and ability to lead and coach a performing ensemble to high-scoring achievement.
